During the summer months it is not unusual to smell food being cooked on a gas barbecue. It has become very popular to have a meal outside on a lovely summer's day or evening. Friends and family are often invited round and everyone enjoys the opportunity to eat outside. There are many different types of BBQs ranging from the small hot coals one to the bigger gas barbecue which is better if you are cooking for a lot of people. Supermarkets are well stocked up during the summer months to cater for people wanting BBQs and usually they have shelves full of special packs that contain sausages, chicken drum sticks, beef burgers and sometimes steak and pork. Jacket potatoes are also a favourite at BBQ's together with salad and drinks. Everyone enjoys themselves even the chef who has the job of making sure that everything is cooked properly.

Outdoor events nearly always include having a barbeque which is usually to be found in a big tent equipped with plenty of plastic tables and chairs. During the winter months BBQs are usually packed away as we all try to keep warm inside the house. When the summer comes around some people buy barbeques that can be thrown away once they have been used. These are inexpensive and only small but are quite adequate just for a quick BBQ. Barbeques can be bought from almost anywhere during the summer and there are plenty to choose from. Young people may decide to have a BBQ on the beach when they are on holiday and a small throw away one is ideal for this purpose. The bigger BBQ's are necessary when it comes to catering for outdoor events where hundreds of people are likely to turn up. A family of four can easily find one that is just the right size for their needs and won't cost too much money. The main thing is that everyone enjoys the food and has a good time in the sun while they are able to.
